Art for Change

Let’s be a force for good. Always remember that we are all part of this global village and together we can choose love over hate, inclusion over exclusion and always seek to find the common ground. No matter what race, gender or religion. Let’s leave fear of difference, greed and hate under our feet and focus not on what’s best only for ourselves but what’s best for all. There will be no peace until we all choose love.

Art for Change: Children of the World

On a leisurely afternoon, Gina found herself captivated by the Netflix docuseries "Tales by Light." This series followed UNICEF photographer Simon Lister and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom as they traveled to Dhaka, Bangladesh, where they encountered children living and working in the inner slums.

The narrative deeply resonated with Gina, prompting her to take action. She reached out to Simon to request permission to use his photographs and the children's stories.

In response to this inspiration, Gina created a series of portraits that depicted the children, aiming to convey their stories through her artwork and illuminate the lives of these remarkable individuals. Gina envisions that her visual art can draw attention to pressing social issues, including the plight of at-risk children in impoverished areas, the prevalence of child labor in various regions, and the heartbreaking reality of child sexual exploitation. The exhibition proved to be a triumph, allowing Gina to successfully raise funds for UNICEF's Children in Crisis initiative.
